THE ADVANTAGES
OF CLOTH DIAPERING SYSTEM
Mommies
of today are luckier compare to our mothers' era because we are spoiled on
choices from high technology gadgets to evolutionary baby products that
simplify our motherhood jobs. But most of all, we are better educated and
knowledgeable on how to source information from multi media to enhance our
livelihood in all aspects especially those that deal with our
children. Cloth diapers have certainly evolved from simple white cotton sheets that have to be changed after every 'baby business' to highly absorbent inserts or fillers that last longer. There are so many benefits of choosing cloth diapers:-
1.
Great Money Saver
At first glance, the cost of disposables is hidden under groceries bills and looks less hefty as compare to the upfront costs of cloth diapers. But if you take your time and do a simple calculation, you'll probably realize how much money you're literally dumping into the landfills by buying disposable diapers. For more information on how much you can save by cloth diapering you baby, please go to how much you can save.
2.
Gentle on baby's delicate skin
Cloth
diaper babies are less likely to get diaper rashes or allergy. Diaper
rashes are caused by prolonged exposure to moisture combined with
friction, bacteria and ammonia build up. Nowadays, disposable diapers are
super absorbent due to chemicals composition such as Sodium Polyarcrylate
that enables caregivers to change diaper fewer times.
These chemical gels not only absorb liquid but also baby's skin moisture that causes irritation and allergy. Despite its' efficiency to absorb liquid, don't forget that bacteria still present in the diaper. The best prevention is to change your baby frequently. Now, by cloth diapering your baby, you will not feel reluctant anymore to change as many times as you want because cloth diaper is reusable as compare to disposables.
3.
Eco-friendly product
CD
is relatively an eco-friendly product compare to disposables. In terms of
materials use for manufacturing these 2 products, disposables use mainly
wood pulps, plastic resins and lots of chemicals such asSodium
Polyarcrylate, Potassium Arcrylate and Alkyl Arcrylatethat are both harmful to our
environment in terms of greenery reserve and by-product wastage.
Most disposable diapers are bleached, contributing to the global
production of dioxin, a highly toxic byproduct of pulp and paper
bleaching, and 250,000 trees are used every year to make disposable
diapers for American babies. This virgin pulp goes straight from your
baby's bottom into the landfills.
Disposable diapers take between 250-500 years to decompose in landfill and millions of tons of untreated sewage go to the landfill along with disposable diapers, an unsanitary practice that raises the potential for groundwater contamination and an excellent medium for transmitting parasites, viruses and bacteria via insects and pest animals.
4.
Cloth diaper babies potty trained earlier than disposable
diaper babies
Disposable diapers contain polyacrylate crystals, aka "super
absorbent polymer" (SAP) which can absorb up to eight hundred times their
weight in water. Because of this, your child may have less sensation when
she is wet and have a harder time potty training. In contrast, parents can
expect a cloth-diapered baby to toilet train a year earlier than babies in
disposables.
5.
Durable and Chic
Cloth
diapers are meant for reusable throughout your child's first 3 years and
with good caring and storing, CDs can be passed on to your next child.
Moms and Tots diapers come in 5 lovely pastel colours that can be worn as
it is anywhere, anytime.
6.
Cloth diapers are free of toxic chemicals
Moms
and Tots inserts are made from organic bamboo fiber and 3 ply of micro
fiber cotton. Our CDs are free of toxic chemicals such as Sodium
Polyarcrylate, the same substance found in tampon to cause disruption of
our reproductive organs. The emissions of plastic and fragrances from
disposable diapers are said to be linked to respiratory problems and
asthma symptoms from animal studies.
7. Cloth diapers are more
comfortable
CDs
retain minimal heat and breathable in the hottest weather and its soft and
cushy fabric is definitely more comfortable than paper and plastics. Would
you prefer to wear disposable paper underwear?
In view of the advantages in cloth diapers, Moms and Tots has come out with a highly functional cloth diaper that caters to all sizes of your bundle of joy from their infanthood to toddlerhood. We strongly believe that each and every one of us can create a harmonious and eco-friendly environment simply by taking a small step at a time, for instance switching from disposable diapers to cloth diapers. It is not worth sacrifice your baby's health, comfort and environment for your sheer convenience. |
