 Care & Wash Instructions:

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT - Machine-wash your diapers before the first use*

Why we recommend machine-washing cloth diaper?

It is because machine-wash can wash off all the detergents thoroughly and the machine washing swells and fluffs the cotton fibers maximizing its' absorbency (especially for a brand new cloth diaper)

Don't worry, our cloth diaper can be washed by machine....for better care, please use the laundry bag when you machine-wash the cloth diaper.

If you really have to hand washed your cloth diapers, please make sure that you rinse off the detergent thoroughly or you will have leaky and stinky diapers. Remember to avoid using any kind of PLASTIC BRUSHES at all time on your cloth diapers. We will not be responsible for any diapers mutilated this way as those plastic bristles may cause tears to the PUL lining. If the lining is scratched or torn, the diapers are no longer waterproof.

What to Avoid?

1.   Do not use any bleach products. Bleach leaves a residue on diapers and can cause irritation to the baby's skin. It also breaks down the fibers in the diapers, shortening their life.

2.  Do not use any Baby Detergent. Our diapers are tough enough to be laundered by normal detergent. We recommend against using baby detergent because it has fabric softener in it that might coat the insert and make it less absorbent. Some baby detergent also contains enzymes which break down the lamination in the covers, thus shortening their lifespan.

3.  Do not use fabric softener. It will coat the insert making them water repellent and will cause leakage! Some babies are sensitive to the softener residue left on diapers as well. The same problem might happen if you use dryer sheets in your dryer. If you encounter leaks, try line drying instead.

4.  Do not use natural soap products such as pure glycerin soap. They may clean the fibers, but a slight oily film or "soap scum" is left on the fleece. When this happens it makes it very difficult for urine to get through the layer of fleece to the insert.

5.   Do not wash or dry on HOT or HIGH HEAT! The PUL layer (waterproof layer) is meant for cold wash only!

6.  Do not use a nappy barrier or balm cream with these diapers - it will leave a greasy residue on the fleece which is very difficult to remove. If you want to use a cream because of severe diaper rash, use nappy liners to prevent cream from getting onto the fleece.

Soiled diapers

Follow the instructions below to clean the soiled diapers:

1.    Prepare a clean pail.

2.   Shake or remove any waste solids into the toilet. The fleece is great for releasing anything fairly solid.

3. Remove the insert and wash away any leftover feces on the insert and cover. You may want to add a squirt of hand soap while you are washing the diaper and insert.

4.    Wring the insert and cover dry before putting them into the pail for later washing.

Tip 1:  We recommend hand held faucets to dislodge the poo straight to the toilet bowl so that baby's poo will go straight to our sewerage system instead of drain system.

Tip 2:  To make cleaning up even easier, always use nappy liners. These liners can be reused a few times (if never contacted with poo poo) and can be machine-washed. For breastfeeding babies who are not yet eating solids, you might like to use 2 liners to make sure you captured the runny breast-fed poo.

Tip 3:   If you have bought the traditional cloth napkins, you can make use of them as emergency inserts to save you some money. Off course, it won't be as lasting as our inserts.

Tip 4:  If there are stubborn stains on the insert or cover after rinsing with water, rub a little bit of liquid soap onto the surface and let it sit for at least an hour before rinsing with water again. You'll have a stain free diaper before sending it to wash as instructed above.

See!! You can save money and mother earth at the same time.
